In addition to the variety of entertainment options you can find in Cincinnati, you can find plenty of ways to spend your free time on the south side of the river.
Newport on the Levee features shops, restaurants, comedy clubs and movie theatres. Other popular nightspots like Hofbrauhaus, a traditional German biergarten, are a short walk away.
You can burn off the soft pretzels and movie-theater popcorn with a power-walk across Newport's pedestrian Purple People Bridge. While you're walking, take a look down to the river, where others are enjoying a BB Riverboat cruise, the Newport Aquarium or any one of the city festivals taking place throughout the spring, summer and fall.
Another popular spot is the MainStrasse Village downriver in Covington. Here you'll find cobblestone streets and charming cafes surrounding an old-fashioned clock tower. To the west, you can stroll through Devou Park and take in the best view of downtown Cincinnati. In neighboring Boone County, you can bet the ponies at Turfway or take in a Florence Freedom baseball game, and in Sparta you can see the speed of a stock car race in person.
For the outdoors enthusiasts, enjoy a round of golf on award-winning courses or take a trot at one of many horse-riding trails.
It's a nice place to visit and a nice place to live. Come take a look. You won't want to leave.
