The Honors House is the current home of NKU's Honors Program, 21-credit selective-admissions minor for almost 400 students. It is one of the original homes on the land purchased for the campus of NKU and subsequently became known as the President's House when Leon Boothe, NKU's third president, lived them from 1984 until 1995. It was turned over to the Honors Program in 1998 by President James Votruba. It is currently simultaneously a classroom building with four classrooms for Honors students, an Honors student center, and an administrative center for the seven faculty and staff who administer the Honors Program. It is also used for receptions for any honorary societies on campus.
Honors students have access to super priority registration.Classes are limited to 15 Honors students and focus on discussion/discovery-based learning.Successful completion of program requirements earn University Honors Scholar designation, coursework may be claimed as a minor.
