Student entrepreneurs hosting InOneWeekend

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.
- The Northern Kentucky University Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (NKUCEO) will host InOneWeekend, an innovative event designed to facilitate the creation of a successful business which will operate out of the newly created dorm space in Callahan Hall, on March 27-28 in Student Union 104.

NKUCEO is partnering with the InOneWeekend organization to deliver a captivating weekend to wrap up the activities of the Haile/US Bank College of Business' Second Annual Business Week. All NKU students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend the two-day event.

The event will feature members of the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky business community who will serve as mentors to students and guide activities. NKUCEO has also invited other NKU student organizations to collaborate on the business plan development and add diverse academic perspectives and experience to the new venture creation process. The goal is to have a good mix of creative ideas and diverse backgrounds.

The InOneWeekend organization, a local entrepreneurial business, works in communities around the world to produce events that not only build a company in a weekend, but also create an enduring network of innovation and entrepreneurship. The organization connects passion with success and believes that new ideas come to fruition faster when creative minds and enthusiastic leaders of tomorrow can brainstorm and collaborate with the successful entrepreneurs of today.

"InOneWeekend is a unique opportunity for students of all disciplines to experience the process of creating a business while earning a stake in the resulting company," said Danica Sticklen, president of NKUCEO.

Activities will take place on Friday, March 27, from 2:30-9 p.m., and Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Student Union 104. InOneWeekend is open to all Registration can be completed at http://www.nkuceo.eventbrite.com. There is a $20 registration fee.

NKUCEO is a student organization which fosters creativity and entrepreneurship among students through workshops, guest speakers, creativity exercises and participation in student run businesses while working closely with NKU's Entrepreneurial Institute (EI).

The Entrepreneurship Institute is a comprehensive resource for students, faculty and the regional business community that promotes entrepreneurship and teaches the skills necessary to operate entrepreneurially in both start-ups and large, established organizations. The EI offers an undergraduate minor or major to students across the NKU campus, a graduate specialization for MBA and MSIS students and a post-baccalaureate certificate.
