MINjas Game for Good

MINjas Game for Good

Want to do a good deed this week? Consider joining Media Informatics students and play video games on Friday or Saturday. For $1, you can have fun and help purchase games for hospitalized children.

The Media Informatics student organization, the MINjas, is hosting a 24-hour gaming event called Child's Play in Griffin Hall's Digitorium on Friday, November 2 at noon to Saturday, November 3. For an entry fee of $1, students, staff and faculty and their friends and families are invited to play on the high-resolution microtile wall or any one of the smaller monitors or TVs that will be set up with the latest and retro video games. Board games can also be played in one of the eight opera boxes.

Participants can pay once and come and go over the 24-hour period. Raffles for games and goods donated by community businesses will also be available for those willing to spend a few more dollars.

Event proceeds will benefit Child’s Play (http://childsplaycharity.org/), a charity organization that purchases and distributes video games and platforms to children’s hospitals and rehabilitation centers through support of the video game industry and generous individuals and businesses. Child’s Play raised more than $3.5million in 2011.
