HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University announced today its schedule of activities to commemorate Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 9. The day will include a flag raising and wreath laying ceremony, a veterans recognition luncheon, displays throughout the campus and a fundraising campaign to support the Military Personnel and Family Lounge at the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The day’s events are co-sponsored by the NKU Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost; Office of the Dean of College of Arts and Sciences; Office of the Dean of Students; NKU Veterans for Education and Transition Support (VETS); Veterans Advisory Committee; Department of History and Geography; and the Phi Alpha Theta International Academic Honorary Society in History.
NKU has been recognized by G.I. Jobs magazine as among America’s most military-friendly schools three straight years, placing it in the top 15 percent of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide.
A detailed schedule of NKU Veterans Day events is below.

Faculty, staff, students and the community are invited to view military static displays that will be set up throughout campus. Please feel free to ask questions and use this time to learn about some of the items that keep our military safe.
Help fill the Boot Campaign
Give a donation of an individually wrapped snack (candy bar, crackers, chips) or an individual microwavable meal (soup, stew or pasta). Donations will go to the Military Personnel and Family Lounge at the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
