Variable Fonts

In the article titled, “Variable Fonts Are here to Stay,” Dave Crossland and Laurence Penney summarize that, “One variable font file can contain every font in a traditional static font family.” Variable font files can even provide a range of ‘in-between’ weights and styles to work with if we play with the numbers that the ranges allow. Variable fonts can be used in simple ways like previous font file types, or they can even be animated with css, with minimal effort compared to past techniques or complicated animation software.
