NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – The Northern Kentucky University men’s golf team took a 12th-place finish from the Midwest Regional Invitational tournament, played at Purgatory Golf Course, to wrap up regular-season play. Eric Fuldner (74-77—151) carded seven-over-par to lead NKU and finish 12th individually. Jeremy Martin (78-76—154) shared 26th place, with Danny Lewis (77-82—159) and Clint Kohls (78-83—161) completing the team scoring for the Norse (307-318—625), who finished 27 strokes off the pace set by event winner Ferris State (286-312—598). Only three strokes separated NKU from a top-10 finish in the tightly packed event. Cody Moore (81-83—164) rounded out NKU’s participation in the event. Findlay’s Michael Schmitmeyer (68-77—145) won the medal at one-over-par. NKU now awaits selection to the NCAA Central Super Regional, to be played May 4-6 at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich. |
