HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer team announces the following players who will joint the team for the 2009 season:

Hannah Adams, a 2009 graduate of Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Ohio, helped the Indians to a 12-5-1 record in 2008 and a district semifinal berth, where Fairfield fell to eventual state champion St. Ursula.  Hannah earned All-Academic awards at the conference and regional levels three times and was named Academic All-State after her senior campaign.

Baileigh Frantz, a 2009 graduate of Oldham County High School in LaGrange, Ky., was scored 25 goals and dished 21 assists over her prep career.  She was named a three-time All-Region performer and led the Colonels to the 8th Region final in 2006 and 2008.

Kathryn Hale, a 2009 graduate of Christian Academy of Louisville, Ky., helped lead the Centurions to the 15th District final over the last two seasons.  Kathryn earned first team All-District honors during her junior and senior campaigns.

Cassie Lingenhoel, a 2009 graduate of Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio, collected 11 shutouts during her final two years backstopping the Firebirds while maintaining a 1.19 goals against average.  Cassie was named the team’s defensive most valuable player in 2008 and earned second-team All-Greater Miami Conference honors.

Sarah Smith, a 2009 graduate of Batavia High School in Batavia, Ohio, scored 72 goals and added 21 assists over her final two seasons with the Bulldogs.  She was named Southern Buckeye Conference player of the year three times and garnered all-state recognition during her senior year.

Stephanie Wengert, a 2009 graduate of Seton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, was a four-year varsity player for the Saints, twice being named an All-Girls Greater Catholic League honoree.  Stephanie led Seton to a 7-5-5 record during her senior campaign, including five shutouts.

Rachael Wood, a 2009 graduate of Taylor High School in Cleves, Ohio, made 456 saves for the Yellow Jackets with 23 shutouts and was named All-City and team MVP in 2006 and 2008.

The 2009 NKU women’s soccer season opens in August.
