OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer team scored three goals in the second half to defeat Kentucky Wesleyan, 3-0, Friday afternoon.

Kendall Day, Ashley Warndorf and Corinne Carducci each netted goals for 19th-ranked NKU, which improved to 11-2 overall, 7-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Day snapped a scoreless contest six minutes into the second half by tallying her fifth goal of the season off assists from Lauren Franzen and Amie Noll.

Warndorf added a goal nine minutes later to give NKU a 2-0 advantage, and Carducci wrapped up the scoring in the 87th minute with a marker. The Norse finished with a 31-6 advantage in shots.

NKU goalies Angela Healy and Stephanie Glass combined for the shutout. Healy notched three saves, and Glass stopped one shot.

Kentucky Wesleyan dropped to 4-10-1 overall, 0-8-1 in the GLVC. NKU is now 12-0 all-time against the Panthers.

NKU visits Bellarmine on Sunday for a GLVC contest in Louisville Ky.
