WILDER, Ky.
- The Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer team scored
three goals during the first 26 minutes of the game and cruised
to a 3-0 victory against Indianapolis on Sunday.

Mason and Kara Costello all netted goals for NKU, which improved
to 13-2 overall, 9-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse
also wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming GLVC Tournament and
will host a first-round game Nov. 2.
Noll began the
scoring for NKU at the 19:55 mark with a goal off assists from Costello
and Brandi Doss. The Norse struck again four minutes later when
Mason blasted a 20-yard shot into the net. Doss and Kelly Sullivan
were credited with assists on that play.
Costello capped
the scoring burst for NKU at the 25:04 mark by knocking in a shot
off an assist from Lauren Franzen, a senior playing in her final
regular-season home game.

Angela Healy recorded the shutout and collected five saves in the
victory. The Norse finished with a 17-13 edge in shot attempts and
a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
NKU, which is
ranked No. 16 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, extended
its winning streak to seven with the victory. The Norse are also
third in the NCAA II Midwest Region poll.
NKU will play
host to seventh-seeded Bellarmine at noon next Sunday in the first
round of the GLVC Tournament at the Town & Country Sports Complex.
The Norse defeated the Knights last week, 2-1, at Louisville, Ky.
