Let's see, what could you possibly want to know about me?

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri where I lived for 18 years.

I attended Parkway Central Junior and Senior High Schools where I first found an interest in computers and music.

I attended The University of Missouri Rolla (now known as the Missouri University of Science and Technology) as an undergraduate between 1982 and 1986 where I received a BS from the Department of Computer Science.

I attended The Ohio State University as a graduate student from 1986 to 1992 where I received both an MS and PhD in Computer Science. Here is a pointer to the Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence Research (LAIR) where I did my research while at Ohio State.

I moved to south Texas in 1992. I taught at the University of Texas Pan American from 1992 to 2001 (the university is now University of Texas Rio Grande Valley).

In 2001, I moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, and am now teaching in the Department of Computer Science at Northern Kentucky University. Here are some exciting things to do in the Cincinnati area.

I am a musician, I play guitar, and also bass, a little keyboards and drums. I have recorded a CD with a friend, our band is called Lee's Summit and our CD is Too Bizarre For Words. I used to have some mp3s up but they took up too much space, sorry, I've taken them down.

I listen to obscure progressive rock. Click here to see some of the bands that I like. Aside from progressive rock, I also listen to late 60's and 70's hard rock, jazz and classical music. No rap, opera or country please!

I am a huge science-fiction fan. My favorite authors are Larry Niven, Frederick Pohl, Charles Sheffield and John Varley. My favorite movie is The Abyss. My favorite tv shows are Doctor Who, Babylon 5, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica (the new series), Angel, Farscape, Stargate SG-1 and Star Trek: The Next Generation. I also love Veronica Mars, Southpark, and The Simpsons.

I am an Ohio State Buckeyes football fan
I am also a Xavier Musketeers and University of Cincinnati Bearcats basketball fan and University of Cincinnati football fan.

I'm a pretty boring person when it comes down to it. I like to sit around and watch or read sci-fi and listen to obscure and bizarre music. I also have a weird hobby in my dieting. Ask any of my coworkers and you will find out that I am obsessed with my diet. I've been a vegetarian since October, 1996.
