The social work minor at Northern Kentucky University allows students to explore the social work profession along with its six core values— service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. Social workers empower individuals and communities to overcome challenges. They work with all people, including members of vulnerable and oppressed populations, across the lifespan.
This minor is perfectly suited for any student interested in advocating for social change and positively impacting the lives of vulnerable individuals and the communities in which they live. As such, it’s a great companion for individuals majoring in psychology, human services and addictions, criminal justice, sociology, and anthropology, to name
just a few.
