Certain health and safety issues, hazards, and procedures are inherent in practice, performance, and teaching of Theatre and Dance. These include but are not limited to hearing health, vocal health, musculoskeletal health, and injury prevention. A primary factor in health and safety largely depends on personal decisions, and students are personally responsible for avoiding risk and preventing injuries to themselves during and after study at the NKU School of the Arts.

The purpose of the Health & Safety resource page is to provide students and faculty with information regarding health and safety topics relevant to the practice, performance, and teaching of theatre and/or dance.

This information is provided to increase awareness of the health and safety concerns of theatre and dance practitioners and the development of life-long healthy habits. Further, NKU SOTA seeks to promote an environment of wellness among its faculty and students.
