Welcome to the KCTCS2NKU Transfer Site

KCTCS2NKU is a dual-admissions partnership between the Kentucky Community & Technical College System and Northern Kentucky University. This site is provided for transfer assistance for students working toward the completion of an associate degree planning to transfer from a KCTCS institution to Northern Kentucky University.  The information provided on this website does not take the place of an advisor or counselor on your campus.

Pathways to Degree Completion


The pathway guides are advising tools designed to help community college students plan for transferring to NKU to complete their baccalaureate degree. The pathway guides also constitute an agreement between community colleges and universities confirming that community college courses meet major preparation requirements.

Program Benefits and Requirements

Benefits

  • Assigned academic advisors at both NKU and your KCTCS institution
  • Access to NKU events and facilities (e.g., sporting events, Rec Center)
  • Transfer Coordinator to assist in transitioning
  • Access to NKU resources (e.g., Library, Tutoring)

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at your KCTCS institution
  • Enrolled in Associate degree program
  • Plan to transfer to NKU
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA at your KCTCS institution

How to Apply to the Pathway Program

The KCTCS2NKU Program has a simple application. Please read the instructions on applying first. If you are not yet enrolled at a KCTCS institution, apply for admission to at a KCTCS institution and enroll in an Associate degree plan.

Once you are admitted, fill out the KCTCS2NKU application. Note: You will need to maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA throughout the program.

Ready to Transfer?

When the time comes for you to transfer to NKU from your KCTCS institution, there are a few steps that need to be completed. Please use this checklist to ensure all steps are completed in order to facilitate a smooth transfer.

  • Complete the online application to NKU. (The application fee will be waived.)
  • Make sure NKU is on your FAFSA if you receive Financial Aid. The NKU school code is 009275. Do this as early as possible!
