Day 4 of our collecting trip took us to a real hidden "Gem" of the Florida State Park system.  Falling Waters was absolutely beautiful!  It was also the first place that we collected a good number of carrion flies (about 68!).  We were still waiting for a mostly sunny day, but by taking advantage of the short periods of bright sunshine on this partly cloudy day, we were able to catch a good sample of flies, particularly as they took up stations on the railing of a new boardwalk that serves as part of the trail system in this small park.  Flies in the genus Spirobolomyia were especially abundant.  Members of this genus are believed to be parasitoids of millipedes.
