The city contractor brought 11,977 tonnes total while doing 1088 trips to the landfill that year (that's 4 trucks doing one trip per working day and two trips after a holiday)
Another 26,799 came from commercial sources like department stores, grocery stores and from bins that people rent for construction etc.
On the private side, 8,527 vehicles came to the landfill in 2012 bringing with them over 2,358 tonnes of garbage.
As for the methane, I am still waiting on an answer about the amount of electricity generated. I know that at its peak, the plant will supply 1200 homes and that it is a 1600kW system.
I can say though, that in 2012 from the information that I have# 4,142,866m3 of landfill gas was collected, and of that, 40% was methane. 33.24% of the methane was flared and 66.76% was used for electricity (our power plant came online in June of 2012). Now in 2013, all of the gas is being collected for energy. I will send you the electricity numbers when I receive them.
