The midday temperatures at 100 well-known cities around the world were recorded in degrees Fahrenheit during one day in August. To obtain these data, use

File > Open Worksheet > MAT 205 > Ex02-078.mtw > Open

or you can obtain the data from our course website off the day 09 page, at

http://www.nku.edu/~longa/classes/mat212/days/day09.html

The name of each city is in column C1 and the corresponding midday temperature is in column C2. Using Minitab, complete the following:

  1. Obtain the values of the mean temperature, median temperature, and the standard deviation of the temperatures. Remember these data are in column C2.
  2. Obtain a histogram of the 100 temperatures. Make sure there is a title for the histogram, and that your name is part of the title.
  3. Obtain a sorted list of the 100 temperatures. Do not print the worksheet. Display the sorted list of the 100 temperatures in the session window before printing them, using the

Manip > Display Data

command.

Before printing the session window, make sure you have typed your name in the session window.
