The Math Department is looking for volunteers among its best students
to be involved in the Mathcounts competition to be held on campus,
February 19th. I think it would be especially valuable experience for
those students interested in teaching, whether at the middle school or
high school level. The critical need is for help between 9:30 and
11:30 that morning. Apart from the inherent value of the Mathcounts
program, this is a good opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to
enhancing mathematics education, and to meet current teachers in the
local school systems - people who may be interviewing you for a job
after graduation. Also, you'll get free food and a T-shirt!
