It's time to start thinking about the "Show-n-Tell" which is
coming up at the end of the semester (the last week).
Show-n-Tell topics should be something you've seen, something you've
thought about, something you've encountered that means more because of
this class. If you need ideas, stop in and see me some time...
The exams are coming back today:
mean score: 59
median score: 56.5
standard deviation: 15.5
Curve:
add 10, and
you can get 1/5 of of the points you missed by coming to see me (after you've reviewed the key -- don't come without doing that first)
Some thoughts:
There was some studying not going on....
There was more reading going on, judging by
the number of people who knew what "Swedder" is!
Today: we'll wrap up our dynamic unit
Let's try the exercise involving calculators and the SIN function
which illustrates "sensitive dependence on initial conditions" - but
let's use Excel (if you don't have
Microsoft Office on your computer, you can get Free Open Office -- nearly as
good, if not as good).
