Learning Objectives for Analysis
In this course we'll
- become more proficient at proof techniques, through practice: both understanding
and writing your own proofs.
- take a more rigorous approach to elements of the calculus: more proofs,
more abstract applications, more discussion of counterexamples to
improve your intuition, etc.
- refine your understanding of elementary calculus, developing the ideas
that you're already familiar with from previous semesters.
- gain an appreciation for the subject of topology, in the context of the
real numbers.
