Announcements:
- You have a homework due today: two homeworks, really (including your fractal image).
- Then you have only one more thing to get to me: your logo!
  - email me the image of your logo -- that's what will be on the screen when you stand up and say a few words about your logo, so decide how nice you want to make it!
  - You'll have just a few minutes to say something -- 2-3 minutes -- so make sure that you can give a description describing both
    1. The mathematics you decided to focus on, and
    2. the personal relationship to you -- why is this your logo?
    in just a few minutes!
- Your daily mobius quiz:
  Is this recycling symbol a mobius band or not? (From the New York Times, 4/23/2012)
Today I promised a review.
- First of all, some logistics: you'll be allowed a couple of cheat sheets. You may bring one (or all) of these:
  - your Platonic solids,
  - your really cool object, and
  - a mobius cheat sheet (two inches wide, 11 inches long).
- I'm going to start by throwing the floor open to questions about specific topics.
- Lessons for life:
  1. Keep an open mind.
  2. Just do it. Jump in. Make mistakes and fail, but never give up.
  3. Often when we've done it once, we do it again. Follow up one good deed with another!
  4. Understand simple things deeply.
  5. Break a difficult problem into easier ones.
  6. Look for patterns and similarities.
  7. Explore the consequences of new ideas. Generalize.
  8. Examine issues from several points of view.
    
    Don't be a turkey -- be a dog!
- I do have a few more things to say about links, knots, mobius bands, and fractals (which constitutes the new material covered on the final).
