- Last time we undertook a review of the univariate problem, and recalled that
- Whenever you have two estimates, you have a third (an average of those)
- Left and right-rectangle rules are the beginning
- Average those and get the trapezoidal method.
- The midpoint would be another good choice.
- Average midpoint and trapezoidal to get Simpson's (but
give midpoint twice the weight, because it's twice as good
generally).
