• Announcements
  • Your first homework (for section 1.1) is due today. Please:
    1. Tear off all those little paper "chads";
    2. Fold your homework in half the long way, with the front inside;
    3. Place it on the table at the start of class when it's due.
    4. Remember what happens next: I'm going to randomly choose just a few (e.g. 3) to grade. I'm sampling your homework. Over the course of the semester, I should have a good read on your homework performance, without grading it all -- if we can believe statistics....!

  • Homework for section 1.2 is due next Tuesday.

  • Let me emphasize again: the most important thing is that you TRY the homeworks. On some of them you may not succeed -- but I'm looking for effort!

• Last time: Section 1.2: Propositional Logic.
  • Any questions over 1.2 so far?
  • Questions on the homework for 1.2? For #50, we might want to use consistent statement letters:
    • I - Innocent client
    • K - Knife in drawer
    • J - Jason saw knife
    • O - Oct. 10 the knife was there
    • H - Hammer in the barn
    Then we should all have the same theorem.
