GRADING: There will be two mid-term exams and a comprehensive final. Homework will be assigned regularly and handed in for grading. Your course grade will be determined as follows:
|
Exams will be now be taken at home, during our scheduled meeting time. You may
use notes during the exams. The final is comprehensive, and will be held at the
standard final time.
You will be submitting digital copies of your exams, once you've finished. I use the standard grading scale, with a small buffer zone for the assignment of plus/minus grades:
I do curve, as necessary and as I see fit. |
HOMEWORK: Homework will be assigned regularly. You should expect to do a lot of homework in order to do well in the course. Each homework assignment will be handed in, generally two class periods after it is assigned, so that a few homework problems (chosen at random) may be graded. Hence, exercises assigned on a Monday would generally be due a week later on the next Monday (barring holidays, etc.)
ATTENDANCE: It's all virtual now, so it's up to you to keep up. I'll plan to have an agenda each day. I may also post some of my own short video "lectures" over each section, solutions to exercises, and other resources.
WITHDRAWAL: The last day to drop a course with a grade of W is Monday, March 23.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: are on-line (see the course homepage)
OFFICE HOURS: It's best to email me if you need to chat. We should be able to work out a Zoom meeting.
