The project is supposed to be something fun that you
choose to do, but it will involve a "stress test" of
chatGPT. It will be partly
graded by your peers.
You will work alone.
Each of you will select a topic of our class, and explore it with
chatGPT. You should push chatGPT to explain the ideas, demonstrate, describe
the history, etc. etc. of your topic.
You should show where chatGPT shines, and where it fails ignominously
(if it does).
You may "stress test" areas or topics from the text which we do not
cover; all proposals require my approval however.
Your project proposal is due by the Tuesday after spring break (3/14). I
expect a one-page description, typed, explaining how you're planning to
attack the area of interest.
You will present your work on our wiki
(here is the 2023 project page).
Projects are due by the last day of class, by midnight.
This project rubric shows how your
project will be evaluated. Each of you will be given two projects to
evaluate, randomly selected.
The evaluations are due by midnight, May 5th (after finals are over). Each
should be about two pages total, typed. I expect you to devote about 45
minutes to each project.
