Here are some of the things your list might include. This list is not complete — you may have thought of many others.

• Decaying exponential functions (Section 3.2): If `k > 0`, then

  `lim_(t rarr oo)   e^(-kt) = 0`.

• Temperature of a cooling body approaching ambient temperature (also Section 3.2): If `k > 0`, then

  `lim_(t rarr oo)   (21 + 9 e^(-kt)) = 21`.

• Raindrops approaching terminal velocity (Section 5.1):

  `lim_(t rarr oo)   v text[(] t text[)] = v_(term)`.

• Newton's Method for finding roots (Section 4.3):

  `lim_(n rarr oo)   t_n = r`.

  Note that the independent variable does not have to vary continuously. In this case, the independent variable is `n,` which takes only integer values.
