My voting experience was not really what I expected. I went to vote at the independence fire department. There were not a whole lot of people there probably because it was around 2 in the afternoon and most people were at work. This was my first time voting because I honestly have no interest in voting or the political campaigns. The only reason I even voted was because we were supposed to for this class.
I expected there to be booths in the voting room that you walk into that are covered by a curtain so nobody can see you. Instead there were little desks that you sat at and filled out your voting sheet. I assumed this would be a big deal meaning it would be very quiet and professional but it seemed as if the workers were very talkative. After I voted I went outside and waited for voters to go in and out of the building so that I could get the results necessary for this assignment. I gathered no data and found that the people whom I did talk to felt that this assignment was not a good idea because it is not a good idea to ask others who they voted for even though they would remain anonymous. I stayed for about a half hour and got no other voter to participate. Overall I counted 9 people who did not participate including my parents whom I asked that evening.
