Mathematics for the Liberal Arts

Elizabeth Clark

This was a very different experience for me. I was really expecting people not to respond well, but it was quite pleasant.  I started at 3:00 and drove up the street to my local voting place, I had already voted earlier this morning, so I didn’t worry about that. I went inside to inform of them of what I was doing out of common courtesy. They were not sure themselves, so they called an official for the validation that I could do it. I understand I already knew that I could do this but I wanted them to be sure. After I was told I was allowed, I went and stood outside the door. Thank goodness it was a beautiful day, wow was the sun shining!  It was not very busy today; I only got 15 votes, but the results I think spoke for them. The overwhelming response was Rand Paul.

Some of my favorite moments were kids commenting on the fed ex truck that was driving by, It was kinda cute. Also my neighbor came by, and I had a nice conversation with her about my hair. I was glad that everyone helped me, and was very responsive. I’m not sure how official I looked with my K-Cup Tea box, and my green hair, but I think everyone thought it was clever.

This was a great experience, it was completely different then I thought it would ever be. I enjoyed talking to people, and really enjoyed finding out these results, now I’m curious to see how the results will be tonight.
