On Tuesday, I spent a half hour at the voting precinct up
the street from my house. It was in the Ryland Heights community center. It was
rather cold outside and somewhat empty. It was a nice day though. Since it was
around 5 o’clock, the sun was setting so it was a great time of day.
This was also a great time to just get out of my house
and take a break from my art homework. I had 3 assignments due the next day and
I had been working on them like crazy the whole past week. I was very stressed
so it felt rather nice to get out of the house and enjoy the sunset.
I sat there for a while after I got dropped off. Not too
many people showed up since it was late and I don’t live in a very big town.
The first person I got was a man who seemed to be in a rush. However, he helped
me out and gave me a slip. The next person to come out was a woman. She also
helped out. Both were very nice people and smiled when they went by.
The next person to come out was an old friend’s mother. I
told her I was doing an exit poll and asked if she wanted to help and
fortunately she did. I was rather surprised that she helped me out. I was even
more surprised when she said hi to me since she never waves when she drives by
our house.
The final person to come out was my mom. She went in to
vote before she took me home. She was also very glad to help since she is my
mother, and mothers are definitely concerned with their child’s school work, no
matter how old.
After her we left since it had been a half hour. Once
again I had to return home to finish my
art homework.
Results:
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Results: I spoke with four
people, two of which picked Rand Paul, and two of which picked Jack Connway. I
also put in 3 of each so that the first voter would feel more anonymous.
