I went to polls in my home town of Campbellsville KY and was there from around 5:30pm to 6:00pm. After I voted, I noticed that not that many people were still there. They said I just missed a huge crowd of people that had got off of work at 5:00. I stood outside of the doors and down the steps from the entrance to ask people. Even though I only got the opportunity to ask about eleven people the results showed me whose side my hometown is on.  However, only ten actually helped me out. The person that turned me down was in a hurry. The voting precinct I went to was at Taylor County Elementary school because it was right down my road and after getting home from a three hour drive I didn’t have much time or energy to go very far. I was very uncomfortable about it at first but after I asked a few people I got the hang of it. I did have a friend with me to help me take the picture and encourage me. Some of the people that I asked were very shy about it and really didn’t want to share their answer, and most of there were very willing to help because they understood it was for a school project. They also really liked the idea of keeping their vote private and anonymous with the box and slips of paper instead of them having to say it out loud or write it down. There were a couple of people that just straight up told me who they voted and I placed the slip of paper with who they voted for into the box just for consistency and accuracy.  Overall it was a good experience. This was my first time voting and I’m glad I got to do so because I think it is always a good idea to have your input. I also enjoyed seeing the views of my hometown which I found actually rather surprising.  I’ve always thought of my hometown being very republican because of the overall views/morals/beliefs of the people in my town and unlike my family who are democratic.
