I voted at Villa Madonna in Villa Hills, Kentucky. That is where I contacted the voters, and the
results were kind of lopsided. This is
somewhat of a small precinct, and I live right down the street from it. Because I live so close to it, more than half
of the people that I contacted I knew before hand. In the thirty minutes that I was there, I
only came in contact with 23 people.
There were four people that just ignored me (so I guess there was 27
people total), but everyone else was cooperative. I did not have anyone that
told me no, and a lot of that was due to the fact that I knew many of the
people. Since I went there in the middle
of the afternoon, (about 3 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.) it was probably not the most crowded
time. The results were not surprising,
because I live in a very conservative area and most of them voted for Rand
Paul. Out of the 23 people, only two
voted for Conway. The remaining 21 voted
for Paul. This wasn’t really surprising,
because as I said before most people in the area have more conservative
leanings.
The voting process itself was somewhat interesting. I remember the last time at this precinct, in
which they had electronic machines that were used. Those were completely gone, and we used a
paper ballot this time. Each candidate
had a box next to their name where we would fill in with a pen if we wanted to
vote for them. Then the ballot was taken
up to a machine where it was scanned and submitted. I had never seen it done this way before, and
I found it interesting.
