Exit Poll Paragraph

Today, I went to Wilder County to take the exit polls with my partner, Anna Thorner. The two candidates were Rand Paul and Jack Conway.  The building that the voting was taken place was called the Wilder City Building at the address of 540 Licking Pike, Wilder, KY, 41076. It was a very small building and didn’t have a whole lot of people there between 11:00am to 11:30am. During the first 10 minutes we hardly saw anyone there but the longer we stayed the more people that showed up. We asked a total of twelve people, but none of them really seemed too interested in us and would the majority of them said no without letting us finish what we had to say. There were only four voters that helped with our survey.  Three votes for Rand Paul and one for Jack Conaway.  Whenever we were taking our pictures one man came out and was extremely excited and even asked to be in it but as soon as we said yeah he walked away without saying anything else to us which was a bit weird.

I don’t think the project experience could have been any better even if there had been more participation.  I felt uneasy having to go to ask people who they voted for (even if it was anonymous).  I’m not from around here and having to go to a place that I’ve never been before and asking people to share who they voted for during an emotional election was a bit nerve racking.  On top of not knowing the stranger’s reactions I’m a shy person and felt uncomfortable to really talk to a lot of strangers.
