At the Polling Place

I arrived at the Baptist House which is within a five minute’s walk of my house at 11:30. The election staff verified who I was and then walked me through the process. I filled out a paper ballot which was very easy to understand. I simply darkened in the circle by the desired candidate’s name. After completing the ballot I was led to a machine where I fed it into it like the “scan-tron“ sheets. That was it, pretty cut and dry.

I began flagging people down at 11:47. The first person I approached cooperated but was definitely protective of who they voted for. The traffic in and out of the polls was pretty light. Out of the nine people that I approached only four agreed to take part in the poll. One of the voters had no problem making his feelings known of Jack Conway which weren’t favorable. He proceeded to tell me that he had a few “run-ins” with the candidate. One of the people I polled was an NKU graduate and filled me in on their contempt for NKU’s administration. The people who would not take part in the exit poll were not rude. They simply said they did not have the time or no thanks. After the last rejection I waited for another voter to enter, after several minutes I decided to call it quits.

Photograph:  My computer will not let me email the picture of me at the polling place for technical reasons that I don't understand.  The best I can do is turn a physical one in to you Thursday, if that's permissible.
