back, since the second one got pushed back (and it will come
too close on the heels of the second). It was scheduled for
the 12th of November -- just a week and a half away.
What do you all think? That moves it back to the Monday before Thanksgiving. One consequence/advantage is that there will be less new material covered on the final....

graded. Those of you who used graph paper to do your homework
generally did a lot better at the graphs. Make your life easy -- use
graph paper when graphing! Why do you think they call it "graph paper?"?!
- 5.3:
- 9 -- vertical scaling of cosine by a factor of 3 -- should be easy!
- 33 -- amplitude is taken to be positive, by definition -- so amplitude here is 4, not -4. The negative sign will represent a reflection of the wave over the x-axis.
- 49 -- avoid mixed numbers, except in carpentry and cooking.
- 5.4:
- 9 -- just a vertical scaling, but show me one point that shows that you've got it right! Sure it passes through the origin, but that's an easy one. Remember that
-- that's another point on the graph of tangent, and so you should have the point
as a point on your graph here.
- 29 -- as good a place as any to observe that you really only need to represent the function over one period of the x-axis.
