Islamic Mathematics and Mathematicians

In this short chapter, you will see how a culture, different in every way from the Greeks, were able to assimilate and then improve on what came before them. So much is made about the importance of a teaching tradition to propagate a mathematical heritage. Yet we see that only the printed word was need by the bright, and imaginative Islamic peoples.
