Today: Pythagorean Triples

• Return homework 7.2 (#1, 6) and 7.3 (#1b, 2)

• Collect homework 7.5: it will be available tomorrow.

• Don't forget:
  • exam next time, over chapters 6 and 7
  • Test 3, Spring 2005 (that one covered 10 and 11, too, so it will obviously be a little different....)

• Let's make the section 10 homework due next Tuesday. I think that you should be able to do it after today.

• I've fixed up the inverse for Hill's:

  found December 15, 2005.

  Last year when I taught this course I was reporting the discovery of the 42nd Mersenne Prime (found February 18, 2005). They keep coming! Don't use these in your RSA encryption scheme: they're both more than a million digits long....
