History of Our Function Box Prototype

  1. Pre-history: Brain-storms (dad and I)

  2. Small grants (NKU, CINSAM), two physics freshmen, and some wild technologies:

  3. Senior technology students, and stepper motors (4x4 pin grid)

  4. Michael (home-schooled junior in HS, met in multivariate calc):
    • father Dan Glier (President of Glier's Goetta)
    • stepper motors, mechanics, and electronics: 27x27 pin grid
    • love, patience, care, devotion, hard work, guts, and brains
    • but, after a year and a half, it didn't work... and Michael headed off to Texas A&M.

  5. Ken Townsley, computer scientist (met in discrete math) and inventor:
    • Ken saw the world's most expensive coffee table, and said "It's beautiful; I can make it work."
    • love, skill, and brains
