Ed Burger's Visit

"Interactive Workshops"

Ed will "facilitate" two workshops, Tuesday, October 14th, AST 111:

• 9:30-10:30:

  "Making our mathematics courses the most important intellectual college experience of our students"

• 10:45-11:45:

  "Revisiting the mathematics program--What are its goals, strengths, weaknesses?"

• Ed says: "...please tell folks that these are to be interactive in the sense that participants should be ready to talk, discuss, debate, and have special questions in-hand."

• Please sign up for these, so we'll know how many goodies to order and how much scotch to buy.

The Sunday Night Dinner

Sign up if you haven't yet, and would like to join Ed, Steve W., Andy, and Frank, 6:00pm, place to be named later (but it will be as expensive as possible without requiring elegant clothing).

The Banquet:

• Sign up! If you haven't yet, the sheet's coming around.

• Please encourage those scholarship students you know to come to the banquet. There's still plenty of room (we're at 65 so far, and we can have 210 and still have a happy fire marshall).

• Remember: it's at 5:30. That's when the milling about will start, with the food to arrive at 6:00.
