Andy's Silly Little Recollections

I've got to start by recalling that Jeff once admitted to me that he'd originally thought that the lyrics to "Heartbreaker", by the Rolling Stones, were

Heartbreaker, with your bowling ball....
("What's with the bowling ball?" he puzzled...:) That is SO FO!
The name "Jeffo" was conferred on Jeff by Eugene Zappitelli, our high school French teacher. And so Jeff became Fo, and Fozo, and ....
Fo continued to practice his French throughout his life, usually to the (intentional) amusement of my wife Anna (who hails from Togo, W. Africa, and spoke it a little better than he); his French came out frequently on the birthday cards he was so good about sending to her. Jeff was a great one for remembering the birthdays.... (His was August 17th.)
Jeff and I once memorized every word starting with "H" in his parents' big red American Heritage dictionary -- turned out there weren't as many as you might imagine! Then we went around wielding "H" words like rapiers. Who needs drugs when you have "H" words? Hallucinate, for example....
