Florence Porter Givens
1923-2008
Florence Givens was the wife of Stuart Givens, who preceded her in death, and who taught Canadian and European History at Bowling Green State University.
A few notes that I took during her service. The first set is from Lois Cheney:
- Florence was one who "walked her talk".
- She was known for her
- Sense of humor
- Frugality
- Love of puzzles
- She enjoyed life (especially learning things and good food).
- She was quiet in a noisy world, calm in an excited world, and gentle in a tough world.
David Young suggested that Florence wanted us to think and to feel and to
love.
