Mr. Lawson was born in Elmhurst. He was employed for 32 years with Marshall Field's as a merchandise manager. He was a Korean War veteran. He sang in the church choir since he was a teenager and was an active member of Prince of Peace United Methodist Church for 47 years. He loved biking, tennis and gardening. He was the husband for 50 years of Doris Virginia (nee Hansen); father of Bob (Patricia Jones) Lawson, Karen (Jeff) Bollmon and the late Susan (Craig) Amedeo; brother of Miriam (the late Joseph) Ochota and Beverly (Bernie) Kestler; grandfather of Andrew, Alec and Allison; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
