Population Connection (PC) meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.




Programs                


PC seeks to draw broad public attention to population concerns and stimulate action for population stabilization. Its audiences include media representatives, government officials, PC activists, and the general public. Through the organization's quarterly magazine, the Reporter, statistical reports, fact sheets, meetings with legislators, a web radio station, and appearances on radio and TV programs, among other means, PC promotes knowledge of the rate of population growth and its effect on the environment and quality of life. PC advocates over-the-counter sale of emergency contraception in the United States and support of voluntary family planning and adequate reproductive health care throughout the world. PC provides materials and activities for students from kindergarten through college, including videos, contests, and newsletters, as well as teachers' workshops, curriculum guides, and lesson plans. Some ($734,357 or 52%) of PC's communications program is conducted in conjunction with its fund raising appeals.
