PC seeks to draw broad public attention to population concerns and
stimulate action for population stabilization. Its audiences include
media representatives, government officials, PC activists, and the
general public. Through the organization's quarterly magazine, the
Reporter, statistical reports, fact sheets, meetings with legislators,
a web radio station, and appearances on radio and TV programs, among
other means, PC promotes knowledge of the rate of population growth and
its effect on the environment and quality of life. PC advocates
over-the-counter sale of emergency contraception in the United States
and support of voluntary family planning and adequate reproductive
health care throughout the world. PC provides materials and activities
for students from kindergarten through college, including videos,
contests, and newsletters, as well as teachers' workshops, curriculum
guides, and lesson plans. Some ($734,357 or 52%) of PC's communications
program is conducted in conjunction with its fund raising appeals.
