Who Really Had Typhoid?
When CFI employees (and long-time missionary Ivy Salomon) were diagnosed in the
clinic with typhoid, my inclination, and the inclination of those in the
clinic, was to get them treated ASAP. Only one person was "symptomatic" (that
is, showing signs of the disease), but she also had malaria, and malaria shares
symptoms with typhoid....
The director of Christian Flights International was more circumspect, however:
he didn't want to scare off groups that might otherwise be coming to Ranquitte,
so he asked me to be cautious in what I said.
