Models of the Force of Infection

For each model of disease progression, we need a model of the force of infection. That requires that we define the contact rates of different subgroups, the mixing between them and the probability of transmission per contact for the different subgroups. That in effect gives a model of transmission of the disease to incorporate in the model of disease progression for each subgroup.
