Mom's Ham Loaf
Thanks to Mom (Marilyn Long) for this one. We made it for Christmas, 2017.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound sausage
- 2 and a half pounds ground ham
- 4 eggs
- 1 and a half cups milk
- 2/3 quart bread cubes (Mom lightly toasts bread, then cubes it)
- Topping: make a paste of orange juice concentrate and brown
sugar. A can of OJ concentrate is way too much. Start with a small quantity, so
that you don't end up with a lot of extra paste....
Directions:
- Combine sausage, ham, eggs, and milk. Enjoy stomping in this mix
barefoot (or else just use your hands). Mix it up into a homogeneous
goo....
- Add in the bread cubes. When that's all mixed together nicely, put
into two loaf pans.
- Cook at 325 for 1 and a half hours, then glaze the loaves, and put
them back in for another half hour.
Enjoy with Andy and Anna's homemade chutney!
