Hints and Corrections:

  1. In step 1  on page AC 177, copy the Hours4.mdb database located on my web page to a floppy disk by clicking on the following link. Home Work 4 Data File Access 2000 users click on the following link instead. Home Work 4 Data File Click the Open button on the first dialog box that appears to start the download, click the Unzip button on the second dialog box, click the OK button on the third dialog box to verify the successful unzip, click the Close button on the second dialog box after unzipping the file to your floppy disk.
  2. In step 4  on page AC 177, after changing the properties of the form, press Alt-Print Screen keys to copy the form property dialog box to the clipboard. Open Word, click Edit menu, then Paste to get screen capture image into Word document. Type your first and last name, class and section number, and date at the top of the page using Word's header feature. Steps: Click the View menu, click Header and Footer drop-down menu, type your first and last name, press the Tab key on the keyboard, type class number (IFS 110) and section number or time class meets, press the Tab key on the keyboard, enter current date by pressing the Alt + Shift + D key combination on the keyboard. Click the Close button the the Header and Footer floating toolbar. Click Print Preview button, then click Print Button to print the page. Do not save the Word document when prompted to do so. Circle the changes made on the form property dialog box. This is page 1 of your outputs.
  3. In step 5  on page AC 177, see step 1 at bottom of page AC 145 as a guideline.
  4. In step 8  on page AC 178, print the options dialog box, after setting the default form template using the steps outlined in step 2 above. This is page 2 of your outputs.
  5. Before doing step 15  on page AC 178, it may be necessary to perform the following steps to get to the Macro Builder. Click Tools on menu, click Options..., click Forms/Reports tab, uncheck the Always use event procedures check box if necessary, click the OK button to close the Options dialog box.
  6. After doing step 19  on page AC 178, print the mfrmMainSwitchboard macro after setting each of the column widths to best fit using the steps outlined in step 2 above. This is page 3 of your outputs.
  7. In step 20  on page AC 178, as you test each of the option buttons in group,  print the Department Data Entry form as page 4, Employee Data Entry form as page 5, Job Titles Data Entry form as page 6, using the steps outlined in step 2 above.
  8. In step 21  on page AC 178, when using the Command Button Wizard on the 1st dialog box under the Categories: list on the left select Application, leave Quit Application as is under the Action: list on the right, on the 2nd dialog box click the Text: option button and set the Caption property of the command button to read "Close and &Exit Access" by typing it into the text box shown, set the name property of the command button to read "cmdExitAccess" on the 3rd dialog box, center the command button under the option group.
  9. After doing step 21  on page AC 178, print frmMainSwitchboard in form view with the new Close and Exit Access command button displayed, using step 2 above. This is page 7 of your outputs.
  10. Step 22  on page AC 178, will print 2 pages. To Print the two pages with the 1st page showing on the screen, Right-click the page and click Print on the shortcut menu. These are pages 8 and 9 of your outputs.
  11. Do Step 24  on page AC 178, by displaying frmMainSwitchboard in form view and click the Close and Exit Access command button to exit Access.
  12. Turn in these 9 pages together with your disk containing the revised Hours4.mdb file in the assignment folder with your name.
