October 23, 2024 - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announces the appointment of Shea Conley, of Lexington, to Northern Kentucky University’s Board of Regents. Conley’s appointment will run through the end of the 2029-2030 academic year.
“Shea’s expertise and commitment to both the field of law and the broader community are a perfect match with NKU’s mission and values,” said Nathan Smith, Chair of the Board. “We are excited about the impact he’ll have in shaping the university’s future.”
Mr. Conley replaces Rich Boehne ’81 whose term on the board expired this past year.
“Shea has a distinguished career as a litigation attorney. He is dedicated to serving both the legal profession and the community, which makes him an outstanding addition to our board,” said NKU President Cady Short-Thompson. “His extensive experience and commitment to excellence will be invaluable as we continue to advance NKU’s mission.”
Mr. Conley has been recognized by his peers and judges as one of the Commonwealth’s preeminent attorneys in both legal ability and ethical standards. He has represented clients throughout the Commonwealth, trying cases in state and federal courts. He is currently an attorney at Morgan & Morgan, helping clients with product liability, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death and insurance disputes.
“The welcome I have received from both the Board and President Short-Thompson has been enthusiastic and encouraging. I am honored to join Northern Kentucky University’s Board of Regents and excited to work alongside such dedicated leaders,” Conley said. “I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the institution, ensuring we uphold our student-centered mission. I am excited to build on the strong foundation already in place and help guide the university toward an even brighter future."
This appointment comes at a pivotal time for NKU amidst growing enrollment and the launch of several key initiatives aimed at enhancing student success with a focus on community partnerships to further strengthen workforce alignment and regional engagement.
