Connecticut: Human population

These are the 169 towns which form a tiling of Connecticut, and which are represented in our data set.

One can see a band of concentrated human population in a "red crescent", from the southwest to the northcentral part of the state. This is important, as the data is rabid animal counts, as reported by concerned citizens (who have reason to fear that an animal is rabid). Only rabies threats were sent to the labs for analysis; thus road-killed animals would not be sent, for example.

Obviously if an area has a lower population (all else being equal), it is less likely to send in animals, leading to a lower rate reported.
