Keith Devlin will be speaking on campus next week, Tuesday, during our class time. If you choose to go, you will be considered excused! I wish that I could go. I'll attend his afternoon session instead. Also note that there is MATH & CS SOCIAL HOUR Tuesday, March 5, 5:45-7:15pm, in the 3rd Floor Student Lounge in AS&T.

In addition to his lecture at 7:30 Tuesday evening, Dr. Devlin will be available from 3:30-4:30 in AC 502 for an informal discussion with students and faculty. The focus of this discussion will be Dr. Devlin's view of the impact of the evolution of mathematics on the learning of mathematics. We hope that you will encourage your students to attend both the afternoon discussion as well as the lecture at 7:30 in the Otto M. Budig Theater. These should both be interesting and informative events.
