Problems with Q11, Assignment 11.9
- Here's the problem, as well as the "solution":
- Several things wrong with this problem:
- IMath accepted Yimin's first attempt, which was incorrect. For
example, plug "n=0" into his formula. Yet IMath somehow thought
it was okay...:)
- The stated answer is off by a factor of 1/9. It should be
\[
\frac{(-1)^n}{9^{n+1}}\frac{(x-9)^{n+1}}{n+1}
\]
- Furthermore, the stated answer doesn't include the constant term, $\ln(9)$.
- So here is a write-up of the
solution, as we had planned it to go!
